Hi, everybody.
My name is Shawna, and this is the american English podcast.
My goal here is to teach you the English spoken in the United States through common expressions, pronunciation tips, and interesting cultural snippets or stories.
I hope to keep this fun, useful, and interesting.
Let's do it.
Welcome to today's episode of the American English podcast.
Today we're going to dive into the life of one of aviation's most iconic figures, Amelia Earhart.
You may know her for her groundbreaking flights, but beyond her celebrated achievements, her mysterious disappearance remains one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of the 20th century.
Join us as we explore her incredible life story, and in it, you will learn ten irregular verbs in English.
What's an irregular verb?
I'm glad you asked.
It's a verb that does not have an ed ending in the past.
I'm currently sitting in a coffee shop and I just drank a coffee.
Drank is irregular because it doesn't end in Ed in the past, right?
With my coffee, I ate a peanut butter cookie.
Ate also does not end in ed.
It is irregular.
So once again, this lesson will teach ten irregular verbs, and then at the very end, you'll hear the story one last time.
My favorite part comes after the fun facts.
There are quite a few fascinating tidbits I'd love to share that didn't fit into the narrative of the story I wrote.
