Hi there.
This is Harry, and welcome to the podcast.
My apologies.
First of all, if I sound a little bit nasally, a little bit of a nose problem, I've got a little bit of a cold, so hope it doesn't impact on the value and the quality of the podcasts.
So what I've got for you today is following on from the lines we've had in the last few weeks.
First, I'm going to give you some english expressions, and then we go on to some other sentences.
So, first, expressions, we're going to talk about the word way, w a y, for example, the way out.
Yeah.
So when you go to a concert or somewhere, you see a sign way out.
Okay, so I'm going to give you some expressions where we can use way.
Okay, the first of those is a long way back.
A long way back.
And we can use this to describe a friendship.
A long friendship.
A friendship that has lasted a long time.
For example, Mary and I have been friends since university.
We go a long way back, meaning our friendship has lasted a very long time.
The history of our family goes a long way back.
I can trace the history of our family way back, going into the 17th century.
So, a long way back.
