Hi there, this is Harry, and welcome back to the podcast.
The second podcast I have now is again using some expressions, and this time we're going to continue with the expressions which give you alternatives to know.
Last week we used three, and, and again we're going to give you three other expressions using no, I'll explain each of them, give you some examples, and hopefully at the end you'll be able to understand them.
And as always, if you need to contact me, the details will be given at the end of the podcast.
Okay, so what's the first expression?
Not to my knowledge.
Not to my knowledge.
Okay.
This is a little bit more formal than the other ones that we've used.
Okay.
But again, it's indicating no.
So somebody asks you something.
So for example, the boss comes in and says, did that customer ring back?
He was supposed to ring back and place that order.
He's been chasing me for a couple of weeks now, and I was hoping he might have rung while I was out.
Well, not to my knowledge, but I've only just started my shift.
So perhaps one of the other people took a message for you.
You might check with them, but not to my knowledge.
So, not to my knowledge means as far as I know, the person hasn't rung to make contact, hasn't left a message, but perhaps one of the other people who was on one of the earlier shifts may have taken a message.
So not to my knowledge.
