单集文稿 ...

  • Hi there.

  • This is Harry, and welcome back to our podcast where we're trying to help you with understanding of the english language and to help you speak it better and understand some of the grammatic structures that you come across from time to time.

  • We'll also give you an opportunity to practice some pronunciation.

  • And as always, if you have any questions, any issues you want to raise, things that you might want to suggest or you want me to change, then by all means, contact me.

  • And my contact details will be given at the end of the podcast, as I always do.

  • I'm going to read the sentence I have for you twice.

  • First time for you to get a general understanding, and the second time for me to explain it in a little bit more detail.

  • Okay, if you're comfortable and ready, we'll begin.

  • My car is in the garage.

  • It broke down on the way to work today.

  • Second reading, my car is in the garage.

  • It broke down on the way to work today.

  • Okay, so something that happens, not too often, thankfully, but it does happen.

  • And people get a little bit frustrated, annoyed and angry when something happens and the car breaks down unexpectedly when they weren't expecting it.

  • So my car.

  • So possessive.

  • My car, where is it?

  • It is.

  • It's in.

  • So my car is in the garage.
