单集文稿 ...

  • Hi there.

  • Welcome back.

  • This is Harry again.

  • And here we are with another podcast helping you to improve your english language grammar and other aspects, particularly for those of you studying or learning English up to and around the intermediate level.

  • But it'll be useful for people at all levels, just as a refresher and to understand what's good and what's bad in the english language.

  • And it's all about communication.

  • It's all about practicing.

  • So make sure you try to use the sentences, the phrases, the words, so that you can practice them and use them in your own conversations.

  • This sentence that I'm going to read for you now is connected to the previous one because we're comparing the word fun, which we used in the previous one, with funny that we're going to use now, and the difference between fun, which is a noun, and here we're using funny as an adjective.

  • And sometimes they get confused.

  • Okay, so as always, I'm going to read the sentence twice and then I'll explain exactly what I mean.

  • Okay, so if you're ready, let's begin.

  • First reading, Peter took us to see.

  • A very funny film which made us laugh a lot.

  • Second reading, Peter took us to see.

  • A very funny film which made us laugh a lot.

  • Okay, so as I said, we're using funny here, and it is an adjective, so it's describing a noun.

  • So we went to a film.

  • Peter took us to see a film, and the film was funny.

  • Okay, so we can describe the film as a funny film.
