  I'll explain it to you, the key grammar points in the sentence, and hopefully then you'll get a better understanding how to use it.

  Okay, so let's begin the sentence for this week.

  So the first reading, I am fine.

  How are things with you?

  I am fine.

  So it's a question.

  So there's a question mark at the end.

  So the second reading, I am fine.

  How are things with you?

  So at the beginning of this, we're making a short statement to say, I am fine, which means I'm okay.

  So you're telling somebody about your health.

  So you could equally say, I am well, sometimes you hear people say, I'm good, so I am fine is another way to express something about your own personal health.

  You can also say, the weather is fine, the work is fine.
