  Okay, so this is about somebody who's getting some recommendation from a friend, and they are trying to give them something to do or some explanation as where they should go.

  And they're using this conditional clause, if I were you, they're obviously not you.

  So this is how we use it.

  We use the conditional if.

  If I were you, usually after I, we would say I am or I was, okay.

  But when we use the conditional clause in this sense, we always change.

  So if I were you, meaning if I was in your position.

  So the second clause immediately following the if clause.

  So we have if I were you, so we have the simple past, if I were you, I would yeah, it's not I will.
