  • Today on the show well be discussing Werner Vincys classic novel a deepness in the sky, a prequel to his novel a fire upon the deep, which we discussed back in episode 530.

  • And this will involve spoilers for everything in the book, so just be aware of that.

  • And Im joined by three guests.

  • So first up weve got Seth Dickinson making his 9th appearance on the show.

  • Hes the author of the Baruch Cormorant series of epic fantasy novels and the new science fiction novel Exordia, and hes also a ten year contributor to Bungie's hit video game Destiny.

  • She's a co host of the stories for Nerds podcast and her short work appears in the Escape Pod podcast and in the anthology putting the science in fiction from writer's Digest books.

  • World of Wreckage, the third book in her torth series of space opera novels, is out now.

  • And also joining us today is Mercurio de Rivera, making his fifth appearance on the show.

  • He's the author of the short story collection across the event Horizon from Newcon Press, and his story beyond the tattered veil of stars recently appeared as a podcast from Dust Studios, featuring the voices of Gillian Jacobs from community and Justin Kirk from weeds.

  • His first novel, the Alien Love War, which was nominated for the Arthur C.

  • Clarke Award, is out now.
