  • Hello and welcome to episode 571 of Geeks Guide to the Galaxy.

  • Today on the show well be discussing the new Alex Garland movie civil War, about a civil war breaking out in modern day America.

  • And this will involve spoilers for everything in civil war, so just be aware of that.

  • And I'm joined by two guests.

  • So first up we've got Mike Cole making his 6th appearance on the show.

  • He's the author of military fantasy novels such as Shadow Ops, control Point, epic fantasy novels such as the Armored Saint, and military history books such as legion versus Phalanx.

  • After a career hunting people in the military, police and intelligence services, he put those skills to use on two tv shows, the fugitive hunting show hunted and the UFO hunting show contact.

  • His most recent books are the Bronze Lie shattering the myth of spartan warrior Supremacy and the killing, a biography of Thermopylae which he wrote with Michael Livingston.

  • So Mike, welcome to the show.

  • Thanks for having me back.

  • And also joining us today is Michael Livingston, who you may remember from our feature interview back in episode 532.

  • He's the author of fantasy novels such as the Shards of Heaven and Seabourn, and history books such as Never Greater Slaughter and Battle of five kings.

  • He's written a book length study of the wheel of time called Origins of the Wheel of the legends and mythologies that inspired Robert Jordan.
