Wired.com presents the Geek's Guide to the Galaxy, and here is your host, David Barr.
Curtly.
Hello, and welcome to episode 555 of Geek's Guide to the Galaxy.
I'm David Barr Kirtley, author of the book Save me, Please and other stories.
Publishers Weekly visceral settings and robust characters will have readers marveling at how much Kirtley is able to fit into a limited page count for SFF fans.
With no time to sink into a doorstopper, these concentrated doses of genre goodness will hit the spot.
And Kirkus Reviews writes Kirtley, employs sharp, concise prose that complements his puckish sense of humorous.
The author's passionate voice breathes life into this wonderful array of tales.
So again, the book is called save me, please and other stories, and it's available now on Amazon.com.
and our guest today is Kyle Newman, director of feature films such as Fanboys, about a group of obsessed Star wars fans who break into Skywalker Ranch, and barely lethal, about a teenage assassin who attempts to blend in at a suburban high School.
Kyle has also directed music videos for artists such as Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey, and worked on various books and documentary films related to Star wars and Dungeons and dragons.
And in this interview, we'll be discussing his new book, Lore and Legends, a lavishly illustrated hardcover celebrating the fifth edition of Dungeons and Dragons.
And now here's our interview with Kyle Newman.
All right, so we're here with Kyle Newman.
Welcome to the show.
Thank you so much for having me.
Okay, so how did you first discover dungeons and dragons?
Dungeons and dragons?
So it was probably the early eighties.
My older brothers were in Boy Scouts.
