In this season-ending forum at The Mob Museum, Nigro joins Season 2 host Jeff German and former Gov. Robert List in a discussion about the Aladdin’s troubles under the control of the mob and how the state and the courts dealt with it.
Good evening, everybody.
Welcome to the mob museum.
Thank you for being with us.
My name is Michael Green.
I'm filling in for Jeff Schumacher, our director of content, who's under the weather.
And I have the pleasure of moderating this panel in connection with mobbed up, the podcast powered by the Las Vegas Review Journal and the Mob Museum.
And we thank them.
And we thank our presenting sponsor, pro group management, our supporting sponsors, Golden Steer Steakhouse and El Cortez Hotel and casino.
And we ask you to put your phones on vibrate, keep your masks on, and do all of those things we're supposed to do these days.
I have the great pleasure of introducing an all star panel.
Jeff Gehrman is a longtime, distinguished Las Vegas journalist who's been a member of the Review journal's investigation investigative unit for several years.
And he was the major domo of this podcast.
You're too kind.
Ed Nigro was involved with trying to purchase the Aladdin.
He had had already a career in the air force with other hotel casinos.
He has since had a tremendous career in banking, and he's going to share some of his reminiscences.
And Robert list was a two term attorney general of Nevada, then was governor, and had the great pleasure of dealing with all of these problems.
The Aladdin had pleasure may not be the word, but we appreciate all of you being here.
It's a pleasure for us to have you here.
And I'd like to start with a little context for you.
