单集文稿 ...

  • BBC sounds Music Radio podcasts hello, I'm.

  • Martin Lewis and this is the cunningly named the Martin Lewis podcast.

  • I do wonder what that's going to be about now.

  • Usually much of it comes from our BBC Radio five live show with Nihal Arthur Naika, but this week, with the euros on, it's a podcast only special woo.

  • Just for you.

  • If you're listening to the radio on a Wednesday, you won't have heard this, so you can be all excited about the topics of today's podesthe.

  • Scores of tips to cut the cost of summer holidays abroad, from crucial passport and e hic checks to cheap foreign currency, how to navigate car hire traps, cut the cost of travel insurance, cheap airport parking, roaming abroad and much more.

  • Plus, finally, cheaper energy standing charges with a new tariff that cuts them.

  • The tellers.

  • This week is all about people's worst financial misunderstandings and how it affected them.

  • And we've got our first ever listener mastermind.

  • How will mark do on a credit card consumer rights question?

  • Play the theme tune.

  • I got bills I gotta pay so I'm gonna work, work every day I gotta, now I gotta feed.

  • Hello, welcome to the show.

  • Before we get into the travel tips, I just want to do a quick heads up about a new energy tariff that's launched.

  • And the reason I'm leading on this is because it has discounted standing charges.

  • Perhaps the biggest cause of complaint when anyone gets in touch with the show about energy is the almost national outrage for the huge amount that you pay just for having the facility of gasoline electricity well over 300 pounds a year.

  • I personally believe it is effectively an energy poll tax.

  • It's a moral hazard that reduces the impact of reducing your usage on your energy bills because you have these fixed daily standing charges.
