I'm your host, Natalie Ekdal, and my zone of genius is coaching women business owners from multi five figures in annual revenue to multi six figures in annual revenue.
Our clients seek to build stability through a retainer business or high ticket project business, and our six figures lab group coaching program supports them in raising prices, setting boundaries, and positioning their business into the optimal space in the marketplace.
Like you, I have a lot on my plate as a wife, mom of three, caregiver, volunteer and business owner.

And remember, just because you can do something does not mean that you should.
Elizabeth Cook welcome back to co hosting the Bizchix podcast with me.
Hi Natalie, thanks for having me.
We have been doing some deep dives into nonprofits and our clients that serve nonprofits, because as we have worked with so many different types of entrepreneurs together over the last almost five years, we're seeing, you know, some special things that come up in the nonprofit realm.
And you and I both have some background in either working for nonprofits or serving a nonprofit or consulting with nonprofits.
So we have, like, experienced some of this as well.
Today, I thought it would be interesting to dive into how funding is different.
And even saying the word funding is a nonprofit word, right?
How money comes into the organization differently than it does in, say, a similar sized corporation like a for profit company, and how that impacts consultants and things.
Just some layers that we could peel back about things that they need to be thinking about and just how things that they should keep top of mind in the sales cycle and also when they are looking to renew their contracts.
I love this topic because I think it's something that it really is so different in the nonprofit world.
So understanding that the different dynamics at play is really critical in terms of knowing how to manage and navigate those relationships.
So what would you say is the biggest difference you see in terms of funding?
Well, in for profit companies, we are selling something, and so we are selling something and other parties are buying it.
In the nonprofit world, unless it's a social enterprise organization, generally, funding is not coming from selling something.
