It's tough being a football dad. At least that's what Adam learned this week after talking to a father (the hilarious Andrew Young) whose son suffered an atypical injury playing the Herrington football team in this The Faculty themed episode. Welcome back to another episode of my neighbors are dead.
I'm your host, Adam Peacock, and we're all familiar with the big names in horror.
Freddie, Jason, cereal, mom.
But who were not familiar with the ones just outside the terror.
The ones who didn't get to tell their tales.
When I was a kid, we used to play street hockey not too far up from my house.
We would go there most days after school in the spring and summer, and we'd play until the sun went down.
Well, one day a car came pulling up and pulled a bb gun on us because he thought one of the kids said something to him.
Now, he didn't shoot anybody, and I'm sure one of us did, but nobody could remember, and he pulled away.
That guy was a football dad in my town, and we all thought he was insane.
I mean, who pulls a bb gun and a bunch of kids playing street hockey?
But this football dad did.
And up until this very week, I never took the time to kind of process and understand maybe where he was coming from.
Like, what would cause me to pull a bb gun on a bunch of kids playing street hockey?
I don't know.
But I think I'm a little closer to understanding, thanks to this week's guest.
Enjoy the show.
