I don't know if you've ever heard this before.
I don't remember where I picked it up.
But there's this thing that directors are supposed to do when an actor nails an audition.
You're supposed to turn to your casting director and you're supposed to say to them, get that person in makeup.
And it's sort of a vestige from the studio system when, you know, actors would come in and audition if they were great, whatever movie was shooting at the time on the lot, you would just run them down into makeup, hit them with a thing of powder and put them in front of a camera, right?
The idea being they're that good.
And after Piper was done, I turned to my casting director.
I said, get her in makeup.
