This week, Jerah and Jon are joined by comedian, actor, and writer Sierra Katow (Sierra Katow: Funt, The Sex Lives of College Girls) to cover Jackpot!, directed by Paul Feig, written by Rob Yescombe, starring Awkwafina, John Cena, Ayden Mayeri, Donald Elise Watkins, Sam Asghari, and Simu Liu. Together, they discuss their personal histories playing the lotto, the loss of the movie's working title, where James is, how well the comedy in the movie works, if it's biting enough as satire, how much Atlanta does or doesn't resemble LA, and much, much more! We gotta talk about the lottery.
Have you guys ever played it?
Let me win the lottery.
Let me win.
Woo.
Do you ever.
Do you buy tickets to the lottery?
I have never bought tickets, but I'm gonna tell you this right now.
Like, not once.
I have never bought them myself, but I used to, like, work on shows where they're like, oh, it's so big.
Do you wanna put in money and.
Like, right, chip in.
We're all buying a bunch of tickets.
I do watch with my mom.
When I go visit my mom, she watches, like, lottery makeover.
So it's like, people who win the lotto, they buy their, you know, they buy their first house or something like that.
And it's always seeing also, I forget how little people win in the lotto, to be honest.
But I'm ready, right?
If you're not doing the mega millions, it's not necessarily that much money.
Yeah.
