59 分钟Welcome to Macro musings, where each week we pull back the curtain and take a closer look at the most important macroeconomic issues of the past, present and future.
I am your host, David Beckwourth, a senior research fellow at the Mercator center at George Mason University.
And I'm glad you decided to join us.
Our guest today is Emilio Ocampo.
Emilio is a professor of finance and economic history at Uzema.
He has written widely on the argentine economy and has advised President Javier Millay on economic policy.
He joins us today to discuss the current state of the argentine economy, the present and ongoing reforms of President Millay, and the prospects for dollarization in Argentina.
Emilio, welcome to the program.
Thank you, David.
My pleasure to be here.
I'm a big fan of micro music, so it's, it's great to be here.
Well, thank you for listening and being a fan of the show.
It's great to know we got fans in Argentina.
Oh, yeah.
As well as my only regret is I won't be able to get my mug because I'm far away.
We'll make an exception for you since you're fighting a good fight on dollarization down there.
We'll make sure you get one as well.
Now we talked about your work.
Previously on the program.
We had your co author and friend Nicholas Kaczynovsky, and you together have written a number of articles, and we talked about a book that you had written together called Dollarization a solution for Argentina.
