First today, Gaza's Health Ministry Hamas run says at least 87 people have been killed and more than 40 injured in Israeli strikes on a residential area of Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza.
The ministry says several victims are still under the rubble and ambulance crews cannot reach the area.
Israel called an earlier lower figure an exaggeration.
It does not allow foreign media independent access to Gaza.
Israel has been carrying out intense bombardment of northern Gaza, killing hundreds of people in recent days.
