Welcome to Macro Musings, where each week we pull back the curtain and take a closer look at the most important macroeconomic issues of the past, present and future.
I am your host, David Beckwourth, a senior research fellow at the Mercatus center at George Mason University.
And I'm glad you decided to join us.
Our guest today is Tara Sinclair.
Tara is a professor of economics and international affairs at George Washington University, where she also directs the George Washington center for economic research.
From 2022 to 2024, Tara served as the deputy assistant secretary for Macroeconomics in the Office of Economic policy at the U.S.
department of Treasury.
Tara joins us today to discuss her time at treasury, real time economic analysis and the framework review at the Federal Reserve.
Tara, welcome to the program.
So great to be here.
It's great to have you on.
Now, we've met before a few times, in fact, I've had some visits to Treasury.
When you were there, you were at DAs, as they call you at treasury.
And I know some of the people that worked for you, Alex Shabula, Andrew Martinez.
I met some of your other colleagues as well.
But that was a great office there you had.
It's a fantastic team of people.
I deeply miss working with them.
I learned so much from that team.
Yeah.
