Hello.
This week Newscast is coming to you from the USA for the presidential election.
And if you never want to miss an episode this week of all weeks, which is when you never want to miss one, then you can subscribe to us on BBC Sounds and also make sure you've got your notifications turned on for BBC Sounds, which means you get a ping whenever an episode drops.
And our episodes this week are going to be really consequential and also quite unpredictable because even at this late stage, the pollsters are saying it's still too close to call between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
She's here in Washington, D.C.
he's at.
Home in Florida today.
And they're just waiting for the outcome.
An outcome that might be later rather than sooner, by the way, because all the states count at different times and different ways.
But then even some people are saying.
Oh, it might actually turn out to.
Be a bit of a blowout for.
One candidate or the other.
So maybe we'll know sooner than everyone's saying.
So even when we'll know is kind of up in the air.
I'm standing outside the White House right now.
Last time I was here was in 08 when Obama won.
And then you could get quite close to the building, actually.
And I remember that night, quite a few people turning up to celebrate the fact that America had its first black president.
