Jessica Lange admits she’s always drawn to the darkness and madness of her characters, whether it’s Frances Farmer or Blanche DuBois or her most recent performance as The Great Lillian Hall, which dealt with the trifecta of grief, loss and loneliness. Jessica and Marc talk about how she enjoys plumbing the depths of emotion, but also enjoyed a life that’s taken her all over the world, a career that started in the palm of King Kong, and a body of work that includes Tootsie, All That Jazz, American Horror Story and more. Lock the gate.
All right, let's do this.
How are you?
What the fuckers?
What the fuck, buddies?
What the fuck, Nicks?
What's happening?
What is happening?
The jig is up.
Whatever you thinking, whatever you're saying about who did what and why and why it happened or whatever, it's done.
And now that we sit here in this trauma infused reprieve between now and the inauguration, I don't know what you're thinking, but it's not going to be good.
It's going to be worse than last time.
It's going to be much more organized, and we are going to be living in a entirely different system of government and cultural dominance.
And that is what it is.
So personal perseverance and mental hygiene and caring for yourself and others, protecting yourself and others is going to be probably the way it's going to be.
I mean, I can only address this, generally speaking, from my point of view.
And, you know, I'll go on sharing my life and my thoughts and having these conversations that we have on this show with creative people talking about expression and life stuff and transcending difficulty through creativity and art and comedy, you know, that will continue.
And I think it's going to be essential to help people maintain their sanity.
So before I get into all of this, let me just do some business.
Jessica Lange is here today.
