You're listening to the Globalist, first broadcast on the 6th of November, 2024 on Monocle Radio.
The Globalist in association with UBS.
A very warm welcome to a special edition, the Globalist coming to you from Washington, D.C.
i'm Monocle's US editor Christopher Lord.
And I'm senior foreign correspondent Carlotta Rabello.
The world is watching as the results of the U.S.
presidential election continue to trickle in.
There are still many more votes to be counted, but a picture is rapidly emerging.
It's all come down to the three so called blue wall states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin where Donald Trump has had the advantage throughout the night.
He's already flipped Georgia and taken North Carolina.
But the Harris campaign says there is still some way to go.
We'll hear from our correspondents in these crucial states.
I'm Thomas Lewis reporting from Philadelphia here at the official election night watch party of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.
And while the mood has certainly become a little more somber here and the room has begun to empty, counting of votes is still underway right across this consequential swing state.
We also bring you updates from the nation's capital as we hear from voters gathering on the streets and at watch parties hoping to see their candidate to become the next resident of the Oval Office.
She did get my vote because like between, you know, Robert Kennedy and Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, I'm going with Kamala Harris.
Plus, we'll get international reaction from the team in London and keep you up to date over the next hour as results come in.
That's all ahead on this special edition of the Globalist, live from Washington, D.C.
so welcome to this special U.S.
elections edition of the Globalist.
