Hello and welcome to Monocle on Culture.
I'm Robert Pound.
On today's show, we're looking at three films doing business in cinemas right now.
We'll focus on Tuesday, a new A24 production about none larger subject than death itself.
And we'll also be taking a brief tour of what's great that's in cinemas right now.
But first too, Tuesday, the feature directorial debut from the Croatian Dina O.
Putic.
The movie stars Julia Louis Dreyfus as the parent of the titular Tuesday, played by Lola Pettigrew.
The mother daughter pair are attempting to navigate Tuesday's terminal illness.
A complicated, painful situation becomes more so and much stranger with the arrival of a shapeshifting parrot voiced by Erinze Kane, as well as a penchant for Ice Cube.
The fairy tale bird forces the family to look at itself through its beady, tightly filmed eyes.
And finally, to confront that imminent old devil, death itself.

Can I tell you something?
I know exactly how Tinder works.
Then you do?
You don't understand how flirting works.
How do you think you got here?
It hurts.
Where, honey?
