Hello.
We're live in London and you're listening to Monocle on Sunday.
I'm Georgina Godwin.
Coming up today, we look at the breaking news this weekend that Hezbollah have confirmed the death of their leader Hassan Nasrallah after Israeli airstrikes.
We'll get the Latest from Hannah McCarthy on the ground in Beirut, our editorial director, Tyler Brulee, our contributing editor Andrew Muller.
Also my guests Terry Stiastany and David Schlesinger will share their views on that and the week's other biggest stories.
Terry?
David, what have you spotted?
Well, I think it's really interesting how international affairs have really overshadowed the UK Domestic politics and the party conference season which is going on.
But also there's some important elections going on in Austria today which will be interesting to talk about.
I think we ought to talk about the fact that it's exactly 10 years from Hong Kong's umbrella movement and in the decades since rights and freedom in that city have really deteriorated.
We'll be having a look at all of those stories in much closer detail.
We'll also join our correspondent Mary Fitzgerald, who's talking about her recent trip to Kyiv with the Brussels think tag Friends of Europe.
And we'll get the latest Balkans news from our man in the region.
Big bribes for returning Croatians, a president's pricey pants promote pandemonium and a rail ride from Zurich to Zadar all coming up on a Balkans roundup with me, Guy Delaunay.
It's the 29th of September, 2024.
