单集文稿 ...

  • And a very good morning to you.

  • We're live in London.

  • You're listening to Monocle on Sunday with me, Emma Nelson.

  • Coming up today here at Midori House in London, my guests Tina Fordham and Stephen DL share their views on the week's biggest stories.

  • Tina, good morning.

  • What have you spotted?

  • Good morning.

  • Well, as a political analyst, I'm always reading the news, so the question is more what's interesting about the news?

  • I think the announcement last night about national service was an interesting one.

  • It wasn't on my list, but Stephen and I corresponded about it.

  • Thank you.

  • And Stephen, what for?

  • You spotted.

  • You spotted the national service thing as well, didn't you?

  • I did spot the national service and there's a tenuous link that one could make with the war in Ukraine.

  • And indeed, my top story of the week has been more arrests amongst senior military officers in the Russian armed forces as Putin becomes ever more Stalin like.

  • Thank you for that.

  • Looking forward to it.

  • We'll also head to Nairobi for the latest.

  • This is Monocles correspondent in Nairobi.
