  • Hello and welcome to the Stack.

  • This week's show has a cinematic touch to it.

  • We're touched down in Venice to speak with Karen Krizanovich on how the media is paying more and more attention to the Venice Film Festival.

  • We talk with Tony Norman about the art of film posters and Auste Skrepiskit on Playground magazine.

  • Enjoy the show.

  • From Midori House in London, this is the stack.

  • 30 minutes of print industry analysis.

  • And I am Fernando Gustava Sheku.

  • We start the show talking about the film press and more importantly, how it is paying more and more attention to the Venice Film Festival that started this week.

  • I managed to caught up in studio with Film critic and Monocle Radio's special regular voice, Karen Krizanovich on the increasing appeal of the festival, its comparisons with Cannes, and of course, which films she's looking forward to see there.

  • Here is Karen with more.

  • I'm a relative newcomer to the Venice Film Festival.

  • I just started, this is maybe my second or third year and I've always wanted to go, but it seemed out of my reach.

  • You'd hear about it, but it seemed a little mysterious.

  • And I think that mystery is being evaporated or maybe enhanced by the amount of media coverage it's getting.

  • And how would you compare to Cannes?

  • I know you are a veteran of Cannes.

  • I can say that you've been there many times.

  • We need to do a little comparisons.

  • I think even the French press is doing a lot of articles on that.
