  • Hello and welcome to the Monaco Weekly.

  • For today's show I speak with the head bartenders and mixologists Bastien Remillier and Julien Le Charpentier from the prestigious the Maybourne Riviera hotels, Setobar and Le300.

  • They tell me about the cocktails you must enjoy this summer.

  • Let's have a listen.

  • Bastian and Julien from the Maybourne Riviera Hotel, you're both bartenders and mixologists and responsible for the amazing bars at the hotel.

  • My first question to you is very simple.

  • I want to know a little bit more about you before you started at the hotel.

  • So maybe Bastiane, if I may start with you, where are you from where you started your career as a mixologist?

  • So like a lot of people, I started without actually wanting to do bartending.

  • I ended up studying in another career path in marketing and always did that on the sideline from a French father.

  • I am from Quebec, spent most of my life in Montreal and this is where I actually got the passion for bartending and really pushed forward for that career path.

  • I was there for a bit over 12 years working in bars and the last places I worked were the Cold Room cocktail bar and the El Pecano Cuban inspired cocktail bar in Montreal Old Port.

  • And I arrived here in 2022 and I've been here for almost three years now.

  • Amazing.

  • Well, is that when the hotel was kind of launched to the public, right?

  • That is correct.

  • What about you, Julia?

  • Tell me more about you.

  • It's a little bit different way for me.

  • So I'm originally from south of France in mountain, the little city next to Italy.
