For this week’s ‘The Global Countdown’, Monocle Radio’s Fernando Augusto Pacheco previews the new songs added to the Monocle playlist. From Clara Luciani to Brazilian samba, it’s a good selection for the cooler seasons. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
You're listening to the Global Countdown, first broadcast on the briefing on 26 September.
It is Thursday on the Briefing and that jingle means only one thing.
It's the Global Countdown.
And joining me here in the studio is Monaco's senior correspondent and musical curator, Fernando Augusto Pacheco.
And Faye, your musical curator role.
This is obviously what is key for this particular special.
We're going in house or staying in house after doing the October magazine issue.
Because that's not the only thing new here at Monocle, is it?
Absolutely not.
You know, Chris, I add songs almost, you know, very frequently.
Every month there are new music on the radio, but I think when the seasons change, it's a bit of a special.
Then I decide to add a bit more.
It's a change of tone.
But I have to say, the thing with me is I like optimistic, bouncy beats and you can have that in winter, summer, autumn and spring.
Well, that's what I was going to say.
But at the same time, we like different seasons, don't we?
I personally am a fan of changing seasons.
I don't want a monotonous season.
So what does your fall season look like, sound like?
Well, as usual, they're.
