It's a question that has dogged Joe Biden throughout his last year in office, but his answer has always been clear.
Will you accept the jury's outcome, their verdict, no matter what it is?
Yes.
And have you ruled out a pardon for your son?
Yes.
When his son Hunter was convicted of tax and gun charges earlier this summer, Biden ruled out a presidential pardon yet again.
I'm extremely proud of my son Hunter.

He's one of the brightest, most decent men I know.
And I am satisfied that I'm not going to do anything.
I said I abide by the jury decision.
I will do that, and I will not pardon him.
But despite this, the rumors kept swirling, and the question became a fixture at White House press conferences.
But from a presidential perspective, is there any possibility that the president would end up pardoning his son?
No.
