The row over who said who is garbage refuses to go away, and it's starting to stink. It started as a controversial joke at a Trump rally, but the word has now become a problem for the Democrats too. Sarah and Anthony go through the story from the start and discuss whether it’s another ‘basket of deplorables’ moment. BBC Sounds, Music Radio Podcasts this election has turned out to be absolute rubbish, or garbage rather, because that is what is grabbing everybody's attention.
Just a few days before voting, we're having a serious debate about who's garbage.
It's like the playground.
You're garbage.
No, you're garbage.
No, you are.
No, you are.
But that's where we've gotten to.
And in many ways this could prove to be quite a serious issue because Anthony, somebody's going to come out smelling worse out of this, aren't they?
Either the Democrats or the Republicans.
Yeah, obviously, you know, this all started in Manhattan on Sunday with comedian referring to Puerto Rico as an island of garbage.
But then, and it looked like Democrats had an advantage, but then Joe Biden on to Tuesday night decided to try to condemn that rally and either misspoke or said it directly, depending on who you believe said that all of Trump's supporters were garbage.
So now we have both sides calling someone on the other side garbage.
