Hello, and welcome to the conversation, the show that takes you around the world through the stories of extraordinary women.
I am Beatrice de la Paba, and I'll tell you something about myself, like a true Colombian in Venezuelan.
I love may arepas.
Now, it's a bit hard to describe what they are.
They are these soft, doughy corn sort of patties, but trust me, they are delicious in whatever form you prepare them.
And I really love making arepas for all my friends who have never tasted them because they are a way to share something about the country I grew up in.
And this is why I'm quite excited about my two guests today, because they, like me, use food to explore their culture and to stay connected to their roots.
They are Dina Mackie, a chef and food writer who develops recipes based on traditional omani cuisine.
She works with international brands, restaurants and hotels in the UK and in the Gulf region.
And she's just published her debut cookbook, Bahari recipes from Anomani Kitchen and beyond.
And Keisha Sakara.
She is the chef and owner of Caribe, a caribbean eating and Barulu supper club.
And she's also about to publish her first book, Cariwe, a cookbook with history, which will come out in spring 2025.
Dina, Keisha, welcome to the conversation.
I feel like I'm drooling already.
Thank you.
Thanks for having us.
