Hi, I'm Oona Chaplin, and I'm the host of a new podcast called Hollywood Exiles.
It tells the story of how my grandfather, Charlie Chaplin and many others were caught up in a campaign to root out communism in Hollywood.
Hollywood exiles from CBC podcasts and the BBC World Service find it wherever you get your podcasts.
Welcome to the conversation, the program which talks to extraordinary women about the work they do and how they see the world around us.
Hi, I'm Dashiani Navanayagam, and speaking of the world around us, just listen to this.
Sounds from a part of the world few of us get the chance to see, but which holds extraordinary wonders and fascination for so many of us.
The natural world.
While joining me are two remarkable women who've not just explored places as far reaching as the amazonian jungle to the rainforests of Indonesia, but who have made them accessible to us in their films and documentaries.
In the studio with me is Andrea Florence, an Emmy award winning producer who has spent decades making wildlife series and observational documentaries on the natural world.
And speaking to me from Sao Paulo is Angela Precillo, a brazilian biologist and documentary maker whose work showcases the endeavors of women in wildlife conservation and research.
Welcome to you both.
Thank you.
Great to be here.
Thank you so much for having me.
No, very good to speak to you both.
And after playing those sounds, I really feel like I should apologize to you because this is a much more mundane environment to be speaking to you both in.
But look, so many of us are entranced by the natural world and the captivation that it holds, and you guys get to experience it firsthand and transport us all there, which is the magic of it, I guess.
But, Andrea, it can't be as glamorous behind the scenes, I'm guessing.
Well, it is and it isn't.
There are amazing glamorous parts to it.
