Hello and welcome to Health Check from the BBC.
I'm Claudia Hammond.
In our new Year show at the start of this year, we put health journalists on the spot and asked them for their predictions for the year ahead in the world of health.
Now, they were certainly right about one of the advances in health which we seem to cover every few weeks now, and that's the promise of the new weight loss drugs.
And this week you might have seen the headlines that take it a step further, that these drugs could even slow down aging.
We'll find out whether that's really true a bit later on.
But let me introduce my guest for the whole show today, the BBC's Laura Foster.
How are you?
I'm very well, Claudia.
