  • First up though, this weekend Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP party won a landslide election in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

  • The poll in India's richest state had been touted as a bellwether of support for Modi, and it should have given him a much needed political boost after he failed to win an outright majority in national elections earlier this year.

  • But the victory is being overshadowed by a scandal.

  • For the second time in two years, the Adani Group, which is a colossal Indian conglomerate, has been accused of criminal activity from the other side of the world.
