This is not a new episode of youf Must Remember this, although we do have a new season coming in January and in fact we are dropping an extended preview on December 10th.
But first, here is something fun to tide you over.
You may already know about my friend Nate DeMaio's podcast the Memory palace, on which he's been telling short perfect stories for many years.
Nate has also appeared on youn Must Remember this.
He actually did the voice of Charles Manson for our series Charles Manson's Hollywood.
And in 2020 Nate and I collaborated on a short lived pandemic podcast called it's the Pictures that Got Small.
Nate has a new book that was just released called the Memory True Short Stories of the Past, which contains some stories previously featured on Nate's podcast, some new material, and lots of new illustrations and photos.
It's beautiful, it's out now and it will make a great gift for anyone in your life who is creative and or cur or just looking for something nice and lovely that will improve their lives.
One of the stories in the book is drawn from an episode of the Memory palace called AKA Leo about the MGM lion.

They took a lion cub from the Nubian Desert and they put him in the movies.
They called him Jackie, trained him to sit and come on command to rear up, to look fierce but not be fierce.
They kept him well fed so he wouldn't eat anyone, and they made Jackie chase Tarzan through the jungles of the Los Angeles Arboretum Menace Jane from the edge of the shallow concrete pond dressed with palm fronds and ferns around the corner from the ersatz suburbs on the MGM backlot where he scampered about for the cameras until some director called cut and had sufficient footage to make it appear that Jackie was chasing Laurel and or Hardy.
