BBC sounds music Radio podcasts hello, here.
Is your second quickfire episode of newscast of the day to mark the second resignation of the day.
And it's about Vaughn Gething, who has announced he's stepping down as first minister of Wales and leader of Labour in Wales.
And it's been a pretty long running story, so plenty to get our teeth into in this second helping of newscast.
Newscast newscast from the BBC.
Hello, it's Adam in the newscast studio.
So a few months ago, you may remember that Vaughn Gething was crowned first minister of Wales after winning the leadership contest there following the departure of his predecessor.
And it was quite a milestone moment because it was the first 1st minister of a UK nation who was black.
And he came on newscast to talk about how exciting that was.
And we'll play a clip of that in a minute.
But his tenure has ended after 100 and something days, having pretty much been dogged by something of a scandal ever since he got the post.
So we will discuss that on this episode and here is how Vaughn Geting announced the news on Tuesday, mid morning.
I have this morning taken the difficult decision to begin the process of stepping down as the leader of worst Labour and as a result, the first minister having been elected as the leader of my party in March this year, I had hoped that over the summer a period of reflection, rebuilding and renewal could take place under my leadership.
I recognize now that this is not possible.
It has been an extraordinary honour to do this job for just a few short months.
Right, let's pick up all of this with Chris Mason.
Hello, Chris.
Hello, Adam.
Hello.
I know you've been in Cardiff in the afternoon.
