News about the next season and our live episode recording at The Podcast Show 2023 in London. What would you like to ask space shuttle astronaut and engineer Kay Hire? Kay became the 34th woman to fly in space when she flew as a mission specialist aboard Space Shuttle Columbia. She returned to orbit aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour. What questions do you have for her about the space shuttle, or perhaps the plans to return to the Moon and even reach Mars? You can submit your question via our website: www.bbcworldservice.com/13minutes #13MinutestotheMoon
Before you listen to this BBC podcast, I'd like to tell you about something else you might enjoy.
My name's Alison Hindl and I commission audio drama and fiction for the BBC.
It's a great privilege because I get to unearth stories people love.
You should see the books and scripts covering my floor from new talent and established writers as well as classics.
The BBC has such a rich history of making great audio drama, we're still the largest producer in the world, and the popularity of podcasts means we can share what we do with even more people.
So if you like to lose yourself in a gripping audio drama or book, find your next listen on BBC Sounds.
Hi everybody.
I'm Florian Bohr, one of the 13 minutes to the Moon producers, and I've got some really good news.
For months I've been working with the rest of the brilliant team at 30 minutes mission control on a brand new season.
Yes, 13 minutes to the moon is returning.
I don't want to give too much away at this point.
There's going to be lots more information to follow, but I can tell you it's about a subject that some of you have been specifically asking for.
We'll be telling the story of the space shuttle.
With us on this new mission since late 2022 has been NASA Space Shuttle astronaut and engineer Kay Heyer.
Kay has been there, done that and worn the spacesuit.
Now in season three, Kay is going to tell us the inside story of the dream to redefine spaceflight as I say, more and all that coming soon.
In the meantime, I'm really excited to say we are about to record a special live show episode of 30 minutes to the moon.
The recording will be at 07:00 in the evening of Wednesday, the 24 May at the podcast show in London.
Hopefully see some of you there.
But even if you can't make it along, wherever you are in the world, you can ask a question.
