I'm Shemitah Basu.
Today why a crucial voting block is warming up
to the far right Latinos in the United States.
A growing group of voters could cast decisive ballots
in this presidential election.
Historically, they've leaned Democratic.
Barack Obama won 70% of the Latino vote in 2012.
Hillary Clinton captured roughly the same
in 2016 when Trump ran for reelection.
Latinos registered and came out to vote in record numbers.
And those numbers indicated a small but.
Notable shift come 2020.
Donald Trump does between 8 to 10 points better
with Latino voters in 2020 than he does in 2016.
There's many reasons to expl.
The first explanation is
that who Latino voters are today is so vastly different
from who we are 20,
