It's a genre that is increasingly versatile, spiritual, spawning many of its own subcategories, from contemporary and historical romance to supernatural adventure, medical and erotic.
And that's to name just a few.
In fact, the quest for fluttering hearts and love against the odds can appeal to the widest audience.
During the pandemic, sales of romance fiction are said to have increased by almost 50% to 6 million.
Today I'm joined by two writers to discuss the enduring appeal of the romance story.
