In this episode, a draft dodger recalls his journey in his later years in director Paul Schrader's drama O Canada.
The film tells the story of Leonard, who fled to Canada to avoid serving in the Vietnam War during his youth.
Now in his twilight years and having had a successful career in film, Leonard recalls his secret history in hopes of demythologizing his life.
In addition to O Canada, Schrader's other directorial credits include the feature films Master Gardener, the Card Counter First Reformed, Affliction, Light Sleeper, Mishima, A Life in Four Chapters, American Gigolo and Hardcore.
Following a screening of the film at the DGA Theater in New York, Schrader spoke with director Alex Ross Perry about filming O Canada.
