Foreign hello everyone and welcome back to our eight minute English podcast on the Learn English with Jessica channel.
It's me, Nathan.
Today we're diving into a topic that's often talked about in movies, TV shows, and maybe even in your own life.
It's the friend zone.
Before we dive into today's conversation, I'd like to remind you about the PDF document we have prepared for you.
It will help you to follow along with the conversation and understand it better.
Make sure you have it on hand.
The term friend zone got famous from friends on November 3, 1994.
In episode seven of the first season, Joey tells Ross that Rachel likes him but will never like like him.
Ross is in the friend zone.
So what exactly is the friend zone?
Imagine you have a good friend.
You spend a lot of time together and share laughs and secrets.
But then you start feeling something more than just friendship for them.
You might wonder, do they like me the same way?
Sometimes you find out that they only see you as a friend, nothing more.
This is being in the friend zone.
It means your friend likes you a lot, but they don't have romantic feelings for you.
It's okay to feel a little sad or disappointed when you find out you're in the friend zone.
These feelings are normal, but it's also very important to respect your friend's feelings.
