单集简介 ...

In this episode, Felix and Mihir debate with their colleague Deborah Spar, Senior Associate Dean for Business and Global Society at Harvard Business School, the role of government in regulating AI. How do we make sure we get the best out this groundbreaking technology? Should we keep government out of the way, at least for the time being? Is industry self-regulation sufficient to prevent the worst? Are we contending with an existential threat? Plus, we discuss the vanishing division between our professional and our private lives. Is it mostly a boon? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  • Hello, everyone.

  • This is After Hours.

  • I'm Felix.

  • I'm Mihir.

  • And I'm Deborah.

  • Hey, Deb.

  • It's great to see you.

  • Deb Spahr is our wonderful colleague here at hbs.

  • We're so glad you decided to join us.

  • Deb, it is such a pleasure.

  • Thanks for having me.

  • Of course.

  • Tell us a little bit about projects that you're working on, the research that you're excited about.

  • What are you up to these days?

  • Sure.

  • So I wear many hats at hbs, which means I'm never bored, which is great.

  • I am the Senior Associate Dean for Business and Global Society.

  • Whoa.

  • And I'm running a new institute that we have here, the Institute for the Study of Business and Global Society, which is thankfully shortened to biggs.

  • And under the BIGS umbrella, we're looking to expand and amplify all those many places where business and society collide.
