Felix is joined by Bloomberg’s Sarah Green Carmichael and Harvard Business Review editor Amy Bernstein to discuss the particular challenges that women face when they first assume managerial roles. Why is it that women do not experience the increase in personal satisfaction that is typical for men? What can companies do to better support first-time managers, women and men? Plus, we talk about the booming gaming business. Will it swallow all of entertainment? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Foreign.
Hello, everyone.
This is After Hours.
I'm Felix.
I'm Sarah Green Carmichael from Bloomberg.
And I'm Amy Bernstein from Harvard Business Review.
Welcome, Sarah and Amy.
It's fabulous to have you both on the same show.
That's amazing.
It's so great to be here.
It's great to be here.
And Amy, I was dying to have you on the show.
You have this super interesting podcast, Women at Work.
Tell us a little about it.
Well, first of all, this is not Sarah's and my first rodeo together on a podcast.
Yes, I know.
Sarah and I together, we're two of the three founding co hosts of the Women at Work podcast.
It's a limited series.
We produce 10 or so episodes at a time, and it's focused on helping women navigate the workplace and its intersection with the rest of their lives.
Is there something particularly surprising that you learned in the course of doing this work?
