He's met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing.

This is not only the first Japanese foreign minister to visit China in 20 months time, this is also I's first face to face meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
But one thing we need to mention is that this visit comes just over a month after the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Japanese Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru ishiba at the G20 summit in Lima, Brazil this year, which has viewed much of a follow up interaction between the two sides.
And it is also with much expectation from the two countries.
