I'm Nicola Coughlan and for BBC Radio 4, this is History's Youngest Heroes.
Rebellion, risk and the radical power of youth.
She thought, right, I'll just do it.
She thought about others rather than herself.
Twelve stories of extraordinary young people from across history.
There's a real sense of urgency in them.
That resistance has to be mounted.
It has to be mounted now.

Hello, this is Health Check from the BBC.
I'm Claudia Hammond and for the next half an hour, I'll be dissecting the latest health news from around the world.
And to help me today, I have BBC health reporter Smita Mundasad.
How are you?
I'm good, thank you.

So let's start with the announcement that the US will withdraw from the World Health Organization.
Now, we often mention the WHO on this program, but what exactly do they do?
I mean, what powers do they have?
As you say, listeners particularly to this programme will be very familiar with the World Health Organization, will have heard about it, particularly during the COVID pandemic, and it does work to promote world health, particularly in health emergencies.
