The Palestinian militant group accused Israel of "delaying the return of displaced persons to northern Gaza", "targeting them with shelling and gunfire in various areas of the Strip", and of breaching the agreement on aid supplies. Sean Lay Hammer says the Israeli hostages due to be released this coming Saturday may not now be released,
in its words, until further notice,
pending the occupation's compliance and retroactive fulfilment of the past week's obligations.
The occupation there refers to Israel.
Among the reasons being cited are Palestinian accusations that Israel is continuing some aspects of its operation
in Gaza in violation of the ceasefire.
In turn, Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, has accused Hamas of breaking the ceasefire deal.
He said he was putting Israeli Defense Forces on the highest alert, and within the last few minutes,
the Israeli government has said it is significantly raising the alert level for its troops all around the Gaza area.
The mother of one hostage still being held in Gaza, though,
accused the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, of wanting the deal to fail.
Hamas's announcement to halt the agreement is a direct result of Netanyahu's reckless behavior today.
