When I was working graveyard shift, I see this scene a lot in the very early morning.
The bustling city of Beijing is yet to wake up.
Streets still quiet, but the neon glow of convenience stores is already lighting up the corners.
Inside, operators are prepping fresh products and updating digital menus.
And just last year, venues or revenues soared and new stores mushroomed across urban landscapes.
Yet this year, 67% of enterprises, according to this one report, plan to expand.
It's not a bad number, but it is a decline from recent years.
