单集文稿 ...

  • My name is Kim Barker,

  • and I'm an international correspondent for the New York Times, based in London.

  • Last summer, I found myself working in Ukraine for the first time.

  • I was expecting to write about the usual things you cover in a war.

  • Combat, ptsd, civilian casualties.

  • And I did.

  • But also, I found Alicia.

  • Hello.

  • Hi.

  • My name is Alyssa.

  • My name is Kim Kard.

  • Kim, nice to meet you.

  • Alicia is 40 years old.

  • She wears a typical summer uniform of black T shirts and black shorts.

  • She usually ties her blonde hair back in a loose ponytail.

  • Doesn't wear a lot of makeup.

  • We met to talk about a drone pilot course she was teaching.

  • But as we started talking, Alicia told me about a different school she runs.

  • A theater school, by the way.

  • We are making a performance about American teenagers.
