I'm Natalia Melman Petruzella and from the BBC.
This is Extreme Peak Danger, the most.
Beautiful mountain in the world.
If you die on the mountain, you stay on the mountain.
This is the story of what happened when 11 climbers died on one of the world's deadliest mountains,
K2, and of the risks we'll take to feel truly alive.
If I tell all the details, you won't believe it anymore.
Extreme Peak Danger.

At this point, I was 13 years old, so we didn't think anybody would make soldiers of us.
They showed that if you didn't follow command, you'll be killed, so.
So you really had no choice.
That 13 year old was an orphan of war, Ishmael Bayer.
The command was from the Sierra Leonean army.
Ishmael was drugged, given a gun, a bayonet and his orders to kill.
I remember the first time I did it.
It took me years and years before I was able to sleep.
I was replaying the the eyes of the man and when I tried to sleep,
I could see him in my dreams looking at me.
