  • Okay, today's topic is everybody's favorite thing at work, I think, and that is pto.

  • So paid time off and all of the unspoken rules that come with taking pto.

  • I feel like on a surface level, PTO is unproblematic.

  • Like, you're just taking some time off and you've earned it, right?

  • Every paycheck, you've earned a couple of hours to put towards your future vacations.

  • But there's some, like, weird, silent,

  • unspoken rules that come with taking PTO that I feel

  • like you really start to know and feel the longer you work at your company.

  • Right now, we'll talk about earned pto,

  • because we both don't have unlimited pto, so we can't speak too much to that.

  • But I totally agree that there's definitely a feeling of, I've earned this pto,

  • so you can't just, like, take it away from me or deny me.

  • And I think for the most part, that's usually the case.

  • But you're right.

  • There's definitely moments where you're like, oh,

  • maybe I shouldn't have taken PTO in this moment, or, like,

  • this particular time is a bad time,
